I know this may sound weird, but I remember a friend of mine told me years ago that cars are designed to gradually veer to the right because...suppose that one fell asleep at the wheel the car then would eventually veer to the right where the shoulder of a road or freeway is instead of going straight and possibly hitting something or veering to the left onto another lane. Is this true?
This now brings me to a question of alignment. My steering wheel appears to be centered, but I've noticed that if I let go of the wheel the car will after less than a block begin to sweep to the right. It's not exactly noticeable but I just "feel" it. If the above is true, then how long or far is a car supposed to track straight before veering to the right (or left)?
