fuel/temp gauge misreading; where is the resistor located please 200 1988

88 project car with temperature and gas gauge reading very low.

At first I thought it was the comp board associated with the temp gauge, but jumpered that with no results and then when I filled the gas tank it was evident it was misreading as well. I haven't ever had to deal with the resistor associated with those gauges.
