Wheel bearing change

I have a 1990 740 GLE with 143k miles. The passenger side wheel bearing appears to be going. Grinding noise at certain times and it feels a little rough when the wheel is spun while jacked up.

My problem is it's removal. All literature I have found (FAQs, Alldata, Chilton, Haynes,...) describe the normal cotter pin arrangement for disassembly. This year/model does not have a cotter pin to retain the nut. The nut has what appears to be crimp marks on its outer edge. I have tried removing it using a 1/2" breaker bar extended with a hunk of pipe but it doesn't want to budge (either direction).

Could anyone assist with some guidance?

Thanks
