Volvo just issued a massive recall for problems with an electronic throttle module in 1999-2002 cars, including the 60, 70, & 80 series. It'll affect over 170,000 cars. Although it's fixed with a simple software upgrade, a TV channel in Denver accuses Volvo of avoiding the voluntary recall and covering up what it knew about the problem.

I love this quote:
"We'd get out in the left lane and press the accelerator and we'd lose power," said Callahan. "It would just shudder as if it didn't have enough juice to go."
Sounds just like my 245 on a hill.
