AMM? 200

The '91 240 wagon quit on my mom today when driving to the bank. I got it home, but it stalls when you shift into gear. I unplugged the AMM, and the car doesn't stall now, but has a considerable loss in power obviously. It has the LH 2.4 injection. I think that I need a new AMM, but is there a way to make sure?

Thanks,
Dave
