Water Pump Bolt Question Part 2 - 91 240 200 1991

OK - I snapped the top bolt off when tightening the waterpump on my 91 240 - at 16 ft. lbs. per Haynes. Used the old bolt and it must have been stressed. Pulled the pump back off and the break is below the surface.

Bought an extractor. Used a center punch, drilled - felt like it went through - and inserted the extractor. Snapped it in half on the first try - also below the surface of the block.

An earlier post indicated I could get away with permatex, and use the remaining studs and bolts. Here are my questions:

- Am I ok without the top bolt as long as the remaining four are correctly torqued?

- Is there any potential of antifreeze coming out of the top hole - the drill gave at one point - felt like I drilled through the bolt. Then I broke the extractor.

- If there is potential for antifreeze coming through, and if it is ok to leave the bolt as is, should I fill the hole with something like JB Weld to be safe?

Worst case, I will have the car towed and properly tapped. I do intend to use this as a daily driver for my soon to be licensed daughter. And it gets hot in Alabama in the summertime.

Thanks as always for the help and advice.
