94 940 hot no rev now no run at all 900

my 94 940 230/2.4 [plain jane] had a problem when hot at extended idle
it would refuse to rev off idle unless you keep it reved up to 1500 or better like siting at a long trafic lite it would stumble and die and refuse to restart
allow the motor to cool 15 min or more and it ran fine and would run for hours at hiway speed fine

a swaped AMM and CPU had no effect
and new cps/fps replacement after the old one failed had no effect

now the car will not start and fuel pumps are not running
I swaped the underhood RSR and the on fuse panel relay
the pumps run IF AND ONLY IF you pop the covers and squese the contacts closed
eathor relay held closed will run the pumps
but the car willnot start even when the pumps are running
it has spark

is there a third relay for the pumps and or the fuel injectors somewhere?
as I think no fuel is being injected [runs on starter fluid]

are these problems related
other ideas??
