Today I slammed the door on my car, after I got out, and the starter cranked a couple of times on its own. Tried it again and same thing. The key wasn't in the ignition and it was turned off. It has been cold lately( -14C )and my only thought is that the solenoid barrel is stiff and not moving back properly, so it makes contact for a moment when I slam the door. Any other ideas before I pull the starter off?
