Radio replacement 200 1991

Tried to remove the factory radio from my daughters 240 the other night. Took the front screws off along with the covers and had the radio loose. I could not get the wires or clamp in the back to let go. Radio moved about an inch but was not completely free. Removed the instrument cluster with wires still attached could not get to the back side of the radio. Ran out of time after that. Any suggestions appreciated.
