bench test turn signal stalk high beam switch 200 1980

Does anyone happen to know the way to bench test the high beam relay trigger on the turn signal stalk of an '80 240 ( non cruise control )?
It looks like current would need to flow between terminals 49a and 31b, but does full current ( 12v ) need to be applied to one side to get a reading past the switch , or can current flow be measired with an ohmmeter?

Thanks
