Engine Noises 900 1993

I have a 945T+ Wagon, automatic, with about 200,000KM with worsening noises and vibrations and have been unable to find a solution or cause.

Shortly after starting a cold engine there is a crackling type noise coming from the front of the engine, which disappears after the engine is warmed up. The engine has an ever increasing dull roar type noise, whether driving or not. In addition there is a low level vibration throughout the car that starts at about 1800 - 2000 rpm, again whether driving or not. The vibration is felt while touching the engine as one increases the revs, though the vibration does not significantly change as one revs higher. It is definitely not the engine mounts and I do not believe that it is related to the drive shaft or transmission as these noises/vibrations occur both in and out of gear. The turbo functions well and I am not aware of any issues with it. These noises/vibrations seem to be an anomoly to this vehicle and are not present at all on my 745T+ Wagon with over 300,000KM or on my sister's 1986 244 with over 300,000 km and 1990 245 with about 200,000km. I have replaced the water pump.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks.
