Air Leak, but maybe not 200 1993

Hello and Good Evening,

Tonite, in the interest of reducing my oil usage (about 1 qt/1500k - 2000k), I replaced the breather box. Bit of a pain in the ass, pulling it out, but essentially the job went OK. I removed the AMM, Throttle Body, IAC, and accordion hose from the AMM to throttle body. I don't think there was much crap in the box, cause it didn't weigh much more than the new one. I suppose there's something to be said about frequent oil changes and changed flame traps.

When I went to start it however, it revved to 1700 to 2000 rpm and stayed there, leading me to assume I had some type of air leak, but I couldn't find one. I'm also assuming that possibly I did something stupid and obvious that you guys will easily identify. Cause I had disconnected the battery, I even drove it figuring maybe the ECU had to adjust.

Prior to the breather box change, the idle was around 700 rpm or so.

Any ideas? I'm really not looking forward to disassembling everything, just to put it back together to "see" if that does it. I tried to search for a leak with propane but was not successful.

Thanks a million,

Marty Wolfson
