Tire chain/cable recomendations 700 1989

I got really stuck in the alley last night and no amount of digging would help, I tried to put on my el-cheapo cables and couldn't fasten the beasts on. They have a keyhole type thingy on the inside and outside and are just a pain to attach. Any recomendations for some ? emergency use only as I do have snow tires and 80kg of weight in the spare tire well.
