Loaded, in that I assume this particular forum is occupied mainly by the RWD enthusiasts. I hope I'm posting this in the right forum. I haven't been here in a while. My car is a '92 940GL... like new... 200,000... runs perfectly... we LOVE it. It's been super reliable and I have no problems now... knock on wood. Well.. maybe ONE problem... my wife is enjoying driving it more and more. Now I'm thinking of purchasing a second "pre-owned" Volvo. She would prefer a wagon... and she likes the "XC". My brother's Volvo mechanic (independent Volvo shop owner)told him he doesn't like the newer cars... he said "I didn't want to be a television repairman"! My brother told me he wouldn't purchase anything newer than his 850. Now.... throw Ford and "all-wheel drive" into the mix... so... what's the consensus here? I would want a car at least as well-built, simple, and durable as my '92.
Apologies to all in advance who own newer cars. I don't mean to offend anyone. I'm just looking for some data to base a decision on.
Thanks!
Steve
