Seasons Greetings:

I recently purchased a 1995 940 with the above radio. When it is turned on it displays the word "OFF". I left it on for one hour and entered the code to no avail. After 2 hours the word "OFF" changed to "codE", again I entered the code number to no avail. Now the display stays lit with the word "codE" even with the radio turned off and the key removed from the ignition. Does anyone know the secret sequence to restore the radio after a battery disconnect?

Also there is no light in the AT selector. I'm assuming there is a bulb in there like the 240 models but I am unable to see how the selector cover comes off. The Haynes manual refers to screws at each end of the brush but I can find no such screws. I have removed all plastic and see two bolts at the rear of the selector that bolt it to the floor. Are these the path to the light bulb if there is a light bulb in there?
