I will try to make this short. Had a big storm here in Seattle, lots of standing water, I don't have a splash guard under the engine so it got enough water up there to stall out completely. Pulled it over and got nothing when I turned the key. After waiting about 30 minutes a turn of the key would get it to at least turn over but not to start it. Walked home, got hit by a car on the way, went to hospital, blah blah blah,,, so it's now about 8 hours later and I attempt to start it again. Fires right up first try and I drive it home. So now it is about 24 hours later and when I tried to start it I get nothing again. The lights and radio operate fine so I don't suspect it to be the battery but I won't rule it out. It isn't making a clicking sound or the machine gun rattle either. It is similar to when my starter went out a few years ago, turn the key and nothing..... Any suggestions? I will wait till my wife gets home and if I can manage it I will at least try the mallot tap on the starter while she tries to start it but I need to get it back on the road. i am supposed to do the 2x daily feeding of my friends cat in a few days and I am broke! ha-ha. Thank you all.
And yes I did get hit by a car... right in my knee.... the driver kept going. what a bad start to the weekend!
