1995 960 will not start 900

bought a 94 960, started fine till yesterday. Turn key to start, dash lights come on all seems normal, will not turn over or start, last time it started there was a 1 to 2 second delay, then it started. I charged for 2 hours with a small portable charger..no luck.. tried to use my portable jump start battery, not luck. Any ideas? has been sitting for a few months in the garage, starting once a week until today. Starter sounded normal on last time it ran. Is there a way to test the starter or just buy a new battery??
