144S Trunk strut 140-160

I have a 1968 144S just aquired. The trunk lid doesn't stay up. One side appears to have a strut. Nothing on the other side. Should there be two struts or a spring? There was a box of replacement parts in the trunk with what looked to be a new strut. If it was for the trunk it could be compressed at will so I figured it might have been off the missing side and bad. Searched the net. Is there a source for these parts?
