I'm going to start making the rounds at the local junk yards to find some straight Virgos. I'm currently running the stock 14" steel wheels with plastic hubcaps.
I'm thinking of having the virgos stripped and powdercoated matte black. Does anyone have any experience with this? How long should it hold up? What should I expect to pay per wheel at the junk yard and then for the refinishing?
My current tires are worn down to the wear indicators, so I would like to do this before I have to buy a new set of 14" tires.
Also, what size tires should I buy for the new rims so that the speedo will be correct. One last thing, can I use the same wheel studs that are on the car or will I need a different size. I am about to replace those also.
Thanks, John

If it needs to be maintained, repaired or replaced on a 1990 240, I've probably done it. '90 240DL, 245K looking forward to 300K badge. >>You haven't really worked on a car until you draw blood<< :-}
