Probable 95 960 purchase,but idle proble S90-V90

The 92 965 has rolled 253k and even though still holding its own,a black 95 965 has caught my eye.It has a few issues, but the magor one is a lumpy idle/miss problem. When cold it starts up fine, idles wonderfully, but after the air pump kicks off it has a terrible idle that is changing my mind from buying this wagon.Compresson is good, plugs are brand new, grounds have been cleaned, power stages have been swapped from a lower milage 960 and still has a lumpy idle.Have also checked all visible vacuum lines. What other areas should I check before I write off purchasing this beautiful car?
I have been lucky with the 960 product line up to this point. My 94 just hit 248k and is running great, oil is still clean at the 3k change intervals and I do a trans drain and fill at each oil service.I would not hesitate to drive the 94 on the 1,000 mile drive to Houston today if I needed to.Everything on the 94 still works as it should. The 92 on the otherhand is the wifes car and she does not believe in maintenance and it has SURELY stood up to the durability test. What a testament to Volvo reliability.I can't count the # of 10k+ oil changes on the 92 and this is the vehechle getting replaced.Which of us ends up with the 95 has yet to be decided(but I have a good idea).I would hate to see my 94 be treated to the same abuse the 92 sustained. The wifes statement is:"A CAR IS JUST A CAR,IT GETS YOU FROM POINT A TO POINT B".
That Is true to a point. But do you want a junker or something you're proud of?
I need some good ideas relating to the issues regarding the 95.
Thanks Dave
