A/C Question- The a/c switch does not turn the compressor on 900 1993

The a/c switch does not turn the compressor on. The a/c system checks out OK. There is no electrical input to the compressor to turn it on. Do I need to pull out the a/c control panel and resolder the contacts to fix this problem?
