Audio question: adapter for portable MP3 player? 900

There is an auxilary input on the factory 940 stereo, so I'm assuming there's a port in the back that can take a cable from another audio device in addition to the CD changer. I checked with Crutchfield about buying a cable to connect a portable MP3 player to either the AUX or CD input on the back of the factory receiver, and they didn't have such a thing. Anyone have any luck doing this without resorting to FM modulators

or cassette adapters?

Here's an example of what I'm looking for:

... but unfortunately I don't think this particular adapter will work with the factory sound system in my Volvo.

I would appreciate any informed advice, or better yet a part number =))

thanks,
