Hi,
None of the brake lights on my 89 240gl are working at the moment for some reason although they were not long ago (2 months ago), they may have gone out recently but im not sure as i was only told and confirmed today. This includes the light inside the car. I am hoping it is something silly such as a disconnected loom. I doubt all the lights burnt out, and they were all functioning at my last service (1 tail light circuit was broken and replaced). I am thinking i may have accidentally dont this when today i was playing around with my antenna as it doesnt go up and down (its one of the automatic ones that goes up when you turn on the radio). Is there any way i can check the circuit or troubleshoot to know where the problem is. I need my car ASAP and no mechanics will be open because they are all on holidays until mid january ....... GRRRR...
I havent checked the globes yet but assuming they are all fine (which is reasonable as they are all relatively new and its highly unlikely all 3 just blew out). THe indicators are still working, as are 2 of the running light on the left side and only one of the running lights on the right side. I am yet to find out if the reverese lights work but i will check.
Also, after some quick research on google it seems that it could be the "bulb failure relay". I have found a diagram of where this is but am unsure how to get it to it and how to check it when i find it. Image is supplied. Any help appreciated.
If anyone has any input it would be appreciated as i will get a hefty fine if found driving without brake lights, and its not unlikely ill be found with increased police activity near new years...
Regards,
Gonza.
