I remember a year or so ago I ordered a new expansion tank cap from FCP. They list the cap as OEM, if I recall, so I was expecting a black cap with VOLVO stamped on it. What I got was a cap that looks just like the Volvo cap but with SAMER stamped on it instead. Being all anal and stuff, I called FCP to inquire about the cap (thinking that maybe I got an aftermarket one instead), and they told me that Samer is the supplier to Volvo, so that's why the cap is considered OEM though it has the manufacturer's name on it instead of Volvo. When I ordered a new expansion tank from eEuroparts, their website lists the tank as an MTC brand (same brand that FCP carries). When the tank arrived it says SAMER on it instead. It looks exactly like the Volvo tank, so I figured it will be a good fit. Well, today I changed my expansion tank and the expansion hose, and the top metal brace that holds the tank down does not seem to fit snugly on the Samer tank. I had to use a longer bolt to clamp the top brace to the bottom brace because the Samer tank is just a tad wider on the edge for the brace to really sit perfectly. The tank seats nicely on the bottom brace, but it's just the top brace that doesn't really clamp down nicely because the new tank has a bit of a bulge on the fender-side of its edge. Did anyone of you guys experience this when you replaced your Volvo tank with a Samer tank? If Samer is OEM, I'd think their parts will have an OEM fit.
