My 240DL Totaled- Purpose Served Well... 200 1987

Hello,

Last Dec. 22 my old faithful got totaled, a front end collision in the freeway by my 18 years old daughter. Somebody swerved and cut in and before she knows it everybody is braking hard including her but it's just too late for her, a chain reaction occurred and 4 cars got involved after. She was shaken hard and sore for a couple of days but she was fine. I'm just glad she was riding in that tank. At 40 mph collision did smashed headlights, signal lights, grill, hood, bumper got twicked a little. Beside that, car is ok but my insurance totaled it because it's more expensive to repair it than the value of the car.
It's a shame for it to be totaled and I fell sad to part it because that was my first Volvo before I started a family but her time had come and served us very well for 19 years+. I did give it as my daughter's first car last year with 218k miles and seems can still go another 200k because I devotedly maintened it properly using Amsoil synthetic oil and synthetic transmission fluid ever since it's first 10k miles. Actually I just spent 9hrs replacing the blower motor 3 months ago, motor mounts and A/C retrofit last year etc. with the help of this board. Thanks! to all.
So, now I'm busy searching for two Volvo for my daughter and her brother that just pass his behind the wheel test last Dec 27. I hope I will find another good 240 or 940 before school starts on Jan 8. or else I might resort it into those rice mobile.
Have a nice prosperous New Year to all.

Gil C.
