Talking about a 92 245 with a completely toasted exhaust system, including cat, downpipe and on and on. Got two quotes today from the same trusted shop for full stainless or aluminized steel. Here are the two options, what they include, and price:
1: Stainless steel (not polished):
a: 2 1/4 mandrel bent stainless pipe
b: Custom made stainless headpipe
c: Stainless 2 1/4" high flow cat
d: no resonator
e: Stainless mangaflow at rear (normal main muffler location)
f: Black powder coated exhaust tip.
Total for SS: $900 (labor, tax, and all)
2: Aluminized setup
a: 2 1/4 mandrel bent alu-steel pipe
b: Stock aluminized headpipe
c: Steel 2 1/4" high flow cat
d: no resonator
e: Stainless magnaflow at rear (normal main muffler location)
f: Black powder coated exhaust tip.
Total for Aluminized steel: $500 (labor, tax, and all)
Now for the question. Which way would you go? Stainless for $900 and not have to worry about it again, or $500 and have to do it all over again in four years? Thoughts?
Thanks in advance!
