I have owned my 1988 Vovlo 760 Turbo Wagon for the past 4 years and love it. It has 245,000 KM, and as the second owner it is in very good shape. The drivers' leather seat is a little worn, but the body is perfect.

It has never been in an accident. While driving to work the other day, I only had cold air. I checked the temperature gauge and it was ok. I continued driving for another 10 minutes, when the car died completely.

After towing to the garage, I was told the block heater plug had been pressured and was leaking. It turns out the engine was completely out of coolant and the engine ceased. One of the cylinders was full of water.

Before they go any further, I must decide if it is worth the $ 2,000 - $ 3,000 for a new engine or a rebuild?

Any thoughts on the logic of spending $ 3,000 on a 1988 Volvo?

If I do not do it, what is the best way to get the car into someone's hands who would rebuild it and continue driving it?
