Hi. Need some urgent advice.
Driving from SF to San Diego, the car died and I replaced the alternator in San Luis Obisbo (yea to Auto Zone - more on that later). In order to insure that I wouldn't be stuck somewhere (if I installed the alternator improperly in the rain with Autozone tools) with no cell reception, I bought an extra battery that I would retrun when I got home. Now I think that was pretty stupid.
The battery tipped over and spilled lots of battery acid on the carpet of the rear cargo bay of the wagon, and on lots of our stuff too. How should I proceed? I've heard baking powder works well for clean up. I've created a toxic mess!!!! What should I do with our stuff that is covered in battery goo? ANY thoughts whould help. Now I'm worried that we were breathing toxic fumes.
