I'll be replacing front strut inserts on at least two 240's in the near future. The last time I did one, I knew from experience not to use KYB inserts and used Boges instead. But, I went cheap on the strut mounts and used KYB's. What a mistake. I had to change them out within 3 Kmi. My parts guy said not to worry because they were warranted. You can imagine what I told him to do with the warranty for a set of strut tops which were about to fail catastrophically in less than three months.

Of course the easy way out is to just do what I did before and get the parts from the dealer, yet being a cheapskate I am still looking for a free lunch. Can anyone recommend a brand of strut mounts and strut inserts which will provide close to the durability of the genuine Volvo articles? At this point in my life, predictable utility is far more important to me than racer-like handling.
