Question with wires on a heater core replacement?? 200 1991

I've been working on removing the heater core unit from my mom's 91 240 station wagon. I've managed to get all the mountings/dash supports removed. Most of all the vacum tubes, and the left and right vent system. I'm right about to disconnect the heater core hoses and pry out the ac core. I just noticed however that the wires coming out of the heater unit,( right in the center, if your facing it), that go to the fan speed switch, also go to other places.
Now I've seen some pictures on the cleanflametrap.com sight where it looks like his wires just come out to the the fan switch and stop, mine however come out of the heater unit, go to the fan switch female plug and go elsewhere (from the female connector)... I know this might sound a bit confusing.. but will I have to clip and reconnect these "extra" wires or am I missing something??
Thanks for your help
cp

p.s.
Also do those that little bubble vacum unit on the bottom of the heater unit come out with the whole thing? I think they do but...
thanks
