glove box light?!! 700 1988

How do you replace the glove box lamp?!

I don't think I'm dumb, usually, but I can't figure this out. I've tried at the junkyard to learn but all I've managed to do is break the plastic around the light. Several times.

And this after replaceing the heater controls (machining a new part along the way) and a lower door hinge. What am I missing?
