Replacing heater core - replace heater hose? 200 1990

My son is replacing the heater core on my wife's 245, should he replace the heater hose while he's in there even though it looks fine? I'm thinking the labor is so much that he might as well while he's there, although I have never had a problem with heater hose. If so, is the heater hose a standard size? I can pick up some on the way home, it's not unattached yet to measure. Thanks.
