I have 1988 745T with M46, 189k mi, original brake & clutch cylinders. Clutch felt okay, it never slipped on a 2nd gear full-boost, WOT circumstances.
My clutch slave cylinder gave out. I was making a U-turn, my car went into Reverse fine, and it disengaged... With a bit of weird feeling of clutch. Next thing I know, the clutch pedal has completely lost pressure. When I looked at the clutch slave from the top thru the engine bay, it looked fine. It was hard to look at it from under the car, as I did not have a flash light. Touching the slave cylinder with my hand, a chunk of metal fell off from it. It was a piston in the slave cylinder.
Can I take a slave cylinder from a 1986 740T+M46 I have? But the parts car has 260k mi on the clock. The new one would be ultra-expensive from the dealership, or any other vendors.
What should I do?
Could it be a bent throw out arm that has caused the damage?
AAAHHHHH..
please help me!
