I'm about to assemble a B20 engine, the block has been wrapped in plastic and sitting on the floor since I got it from the machine shop about 3 months ago. While inspecting the oil galleys I found that the rear most cam bearing does not line up with the oil galley hole - I can't poke a wire through.
The machine shop says to bring it in and they will make it right, but this will delay me a couple weeks.
Would I being making a big mistake to drill out the bearing making sure to clean up burrs and clean throughly? It's a straight shot from the rear main bearing to the cam bearing.
What do the experts think?
