Strut 15/16' mounting nut- is torque really only 15lbs? 200

Just installed new strut mounts in my wife's 88. Everything went very smoothly- not really a hard job at all. No clunks on the test drive.

Although I have air tools, and could have tighted the heck out of it, I restrained myself and tightened the 15/16" strut mounting nut (by hand)to the Bently spec of 15 ftlbs (!) Is this torque value correct? Everything went together ok at this spec, no clunking, but the torque seems a little on the light side. Some people seem to think that sucker should be really tight. Is 15lbs correct? Perhaps the logic is that over tightening affects bearing life- may be this is way folks have trouble with aftermarket replacements wearing out so fast.

At any rate, I'd like to know if the Bentley is correct.

Thanks!
