I've spent that last two afternoons fighting a war with the exhaust manifold/turbo on my '89 745 (mitsubishi turbo). I've drianed the system, removed two coolant lines and an oil line to the turbo, removed the 8 exhaust manifold bolts - I even found the one 12mmbolt on the supporting bracket on the bottom of the turbo. All this work and yet the turbo and manifold won't come out of the car.
All I can figure out right now is that I need to remove the top turbo oil line that connects to the engine block near the oil filter housing. The trouble is that I don't have a lift or even a set of jackstands I can trust (old crooked garage floor), so getting at the oil line banjo bolt has proved to be almost impossible.
There must be a trick - an exhaust manifold shouldn't be this difficult!!!
Any suggestions?
