1980 altenator problems 200

Hey i just bought an 80 245 and have had a starting problem that was diagnosed with a bad altenator. I replaced the altenator and now have a problem of holding a charge. My question is simple which wire do i hook up to the 3rd terminal on the back of the altenator? i have the blue (negative) to the negative post, the red (hot) to the postive post, and then i have four small gauge wires (red, black, green, and white with a red stirp) coming from the bottom side of the engine block.
