1980 242, no power after warming up

ok, this is driving me nuts. If I start the car cold and take off it will run perfect(no problem 0-120kmh) until I have to stop or slow down(normally a couple of minutes til I hit a stop sigh or something). When I start off again it is very slow and can hardly get up to 80kmh. If I stop for gas or shut it off for a couple of minutes it will run fine again until I slow down, stop, turn etc. It will pick up speed if I'm going down hill and almost impossible to climb a hill. Its not close to overheating. Anybody have an idea?
