stuck door 700 1988

I almost never use the rear doors on my 745, and almost always have the rear seats folded down.
Anyway, yesterday I went to open the passenger side rear door, and it will not open. There is no resistance when I pull up on the handle. The lock knob is going up and down as normal.
I'm sure I'm not the first one to run into this.
I need some advice.
