MAF Repairable? 900

After quite a bit of diagnosing, it seems it is the Mass airflow sensor that is toast. I cleaned the wires with contact cleaner, but no luck, and the 1-2-1 code remains. Is thee any way to resolder the MAF, or does any one know how they fail internally? Let me know guys, Volvo wants $550 for a new one.
