Anyone ever tried to remove the plastic cupholder tray from a Volvo armrest? 200 1986

I have a broken/missing front tray in my car but the rear one is still in good shape. I was thinking of trying to pull out the rear one and slide it into the front of the armrest.

but I can't seem to figure out how to get the tray out....

any help, as always, would be greatly appreciated.
