Been having a problem with my 89 240 bucking after a warm start, by warm start I mean having driven for at least 10 minutes then shutting off the car then starting it again. It sputters for about 15 seconds then its fine. I disconnected the cold start valve electrical just as a wild guess but that didn't help. I took it to a shop and they diagnosed a bad AMM. Since I just gave them mucho dinero to do a bunch of other maintenance stuff I thought I would save a $100 and install the AMM myself. Bad move. It runs worse now with the new rebuilt AMM than it did before. It sputters after warmup even worse and now it dies at intersections.
When I was changing the AMM I noticed a bunch of brown oily goo in the intake hose right next to the AMM. I also noticed that the throttle body intake looked kind of nasty.
This problem started happening after I:
cleaned out the fire trap, ran through a big mud puddle and had the car bog down on me bad-twice, was t-boned by a deer. I doubt the latter has anything to do with it.
I will probably just take it back to the shop tomorrow. They're not super hip on Volvos but I trust them to do their best.
Could my problem be related to a dirty throttle body?
Thanks for any input.
