Once you get the belts off, what do you do once you get them on? 900 1994

Hi everyone,
I have a 1994 940 turbo wagon. I am about to change all of the belts. I have gone through a lot of threads that describe how to get the belts off, but not one have I come across that tells you what to do after you put the new belts on. For example, to get the alternator belt off, you are supposed to loosen a few bolts and then tilt the alternator towards the engine to get the belt off. Once you put the new belt on, how will you know that you are moving the alternator back to the correct position once you are ready to tighten the bolts?
