No start AGHHHHHHHHH! 200 1979

79 244 with cold start issue from hell. I cannot get this thing to start no mater what I try. I'll give the whole story cause there is a lot to it. I bought this car from a friend who spent way too much for it at an auction. The car looked great w/ 115 k miles. It had sat in a garage for many years and had been monkeied with to get it to run at the auction and again apparently when my friend took it to a less than reputable shop. When I got it the gas tank was full of foul rusty, varnished gas. It had been driven all over town with that junk in the tank. I flushed and scrubbed the tank, changed the filters and it ran great all summer rain and shine but did stumble a bit when cold starting. In the fall the main pump started leaking badly. I have no money so tried to rebuild the pump. It stopped leaking but now would not start. Note: at the time I rebuilt, the outside temperature had started to drop and has stayed below 50 degrees F. I got a new pump, no start, checked volume before and after main filter, great. Checked volume at return line to tank. great. Started reading manual. Checked for spark, good white spark at all plugs but all plugs soaked with gas, (flooded?) I clean and blow out after each unsuccessful attempt to start, and squirt a bit of oil in each cylinder. Just for good measure operated air damper and listened for injectors firing, all sounded good. Pulled an injector, no leaking, and fired when cranking (only at beginning of cranking). Pulled cold start injector, no leaking, and fired when cranking. Another note at this point I had noticed that the fuel pumps always run when the key is turned. At one point I pulled the pump relay, for the hell of it, turned the key and the pump came on! Apparently someone has jumped or shorted the pumps on. Haven't yet tracked down as I have bigger trouble (no start and it is useful with the diagnostics). I next checked the aux. air valve, open 85% at 20 degrees F. Checked cold start injector, fires when cranking and no leaking when not cranking. Read more, discovered brickboard, pulled and cleaned CPR. This made a slight change and the engine would sputter when cranking but would stop when cranking stops. Also note, after cranking for a bit there is a puddle of gas inside the inlet below the air flow sensor. I am currently at a loss and would be happy to just hear this thing run for five minutes. Anyone have a suggestion as what to check next?
