I recently replaced the rotten wiring harness in my '87 240 in an attempt to solve
some intermittent starting problems. I also cleaned up the FI grounds.
Unfortunately, I now have a real problem. The car stumbles/cuts out almost continuously. Sometimes you get a couple of minutes of smooth running, but it
usually will run OK for a few seconds, then stumble and often die. Fluttering the
gas pedal is necessary to keep it running. Esp. dies when you pull up to a stop sign.
I'm sure that all the connections are correct (and are actually connected)
I have swapped out the ICU and ECU and this didn't help.
Any suggestions on things to check before I start in with the multimeter?
