Bilstein Touring Class Strut Inserts 200

Hello All,

Now that I've got my front end squeak problem fixed, I'm ready to tackle other issues. I installed new Bilstein Touring Class Strut Inserts in my 240. The original inserts rode very rough, it was like riding with no suspension. The front end was difficult to push down and would slowly creep back up.
One of the new Bilstein inserts I installed had a different Hex style gland nut, the other had the standard spanner style nut. Both had the same part number, but the one with the hex nut was packaged a little differently with a plastic "hat" under the rod retaining strap when I took it out of the box. The other just had the strap directly over the end of the rod. I assumed one must just be from a different run or lot.
Installed on the car they seem to ride fine, however, when I push down on the right side of the car (the side with the "newer hex nut" style insert) it quickly pops back up without bouncing. However, when I push down on the left (driver) side, it comes back up quickly for only about half the travel then slowly for the remainder.
Did I get a mismatched pair of shocks, or is it normal for the driver side to be less responsive (weight of battery, steering etc.).

Thanks,
Preston
