1800 ES Chassis numbers 1800

Hi

I am trying to find out some information regarding the chassis numbers for the 1800 ES.

The car in question has the following numbers
"Type 1834352Y
S1834352Y00506"

I understand the legend behind the 1834352 but the last 5 digits are a puzzle.
If this is the chassis number then the car must be a '72 "W" series.

If the car is a true "Y" series the chassis numbers must run from 3071 to 8077.

Does anybody have any comments that might throw some light on things.

The other bit of information that might be of use is the engine number - 8280730 - but I have not been able to find any linking information on the Net. Could any of the you 1800 ES owners give me the your chassis number and engine number. I realise that this is not conclusive as engines can be changed but it might give a lead.

The car in question is in good shape, runs well etc but could do with a bit of a makeover and sprucing up. Its got 190,000km approximately on the clock. The current owner has only used it sporadically over the past few years.

Thanks for any comments.

Mike
