I have an original luggage rack that was given to me by the PO of the car. It is the older frame type with oak strips and a metal tubular frame.
The rack sits on the roof while resting on four short legs at each corner of the rack and is secured by clamps that attach to the drip rails. Each leg has a black rubber "sock" that prevents the end of the leg from scratching the roof.
The legs are a result of the frame tube squeezed together from both sides so they look like vertical bars. The socks fit snugly over the ends. These rubber "socks" were originally thick and flexible but are now hard/cracked and need to be replaced.
Any suggestions on what I can use as a replacement for these and still have a stock look? I assume nobody makes replacements.
I'll post a picture when I have completed refinishing it.
Thanks. waggin
