My son found a private party that is looking to sell his 1989 240DL sedan.
It has 190K miles and is a standard shift. He's replaced the clutch, crank position sensor, waterpump, timimg belt & seals and it has good tires. The '86 that I drive I know has the biodegradeable wiring harness and am pretty sure that this one, from what I've read in the past, was upgraded by Volvo to do away with this problem. Besides having some computers that might be a headache later down the road that my '86 doesn't have, is there anything in particular to watch out for on this year car? NADA says for the mileage that avgerage retail is $1800 and high retail is $2325. I think he's asking about $2200 for the car. We're going to drive it today or tomorrow. I know to ask for records on what he's done to the car and make sure the a/c works which here in Florida is very important.
Thanks for any input you all may have.
