Hello to all,
It's me again, Mr. 960. After replacing my lifters I've noticed a new problem. I'm getting a, come and go, ticking sound in idle, reving car up to 2,000 rpm, and while driving her. While driving, if I move the shifter ever so slightly up - the ticking almost stops completely. I took my car to my tranny man, and of course we couldn't get car to make the sound. However, moving the shifter back and forth (engine off) makes a metallic ratteling sound. All looks good on the outside, bushing etc. He can't work on it today; won't be able to get it in till Thursday. Do you think he will find something in the pan? He also wants to flush out all the Dexron III oil and use Volvo or Toyota tranny fluid, he says that is why it shifts harsh into gear.
* Side note - In playing arond with the shifter and reving car in neutral trying to get car to make sound, I accidently dropped it into drive. Emergency break was on and foot on break. She jumped but at that time I was allready off the gas and the idle was coming down. Do you think I could have damaged my tranny? In my opinion I don't think so, but any input is welcomed.
thanks so much,
Mr. 960
